Breaking: AWS Announces Agentic AI Solutions for the Enterprise
Today at the What’s Next with AWS event, Amazon Web Services unveiled a sweeping set of agentic AI products that promise to reshape how businesses operate. The centerpiece is Amazon Quick, an AI assistant for work, and a reimagined Amazon Connect suite that now spans supply chain, hiring, customer service, and healthcare.
“This is the beginning of a new era in enterprise AI,” said Matt Garman, CEO of AWS. “We are moving from tools that simply answer questions to agents that take action—on your behalf, across your entire business.”
The announcements target a critical pain point: fragmented workflows and underutilized data. AWS estimates that companies waste billions annually on disconnected systems and manual coordination.
Amazon Quick: The AI Agent for Every Worker
Amazon Quick is a generative AI assistant that connects to a user’s apps, learns context, and executes tasks. It is now available as a desktop app in Preview, allowing users to access local files, calendar, and communications without a browser.
The company also introduced Free and Plus pricing plans that require only a personal email—no AWS account. Users can generate polished documents, presentations, infographics, and images directly from the chat interface. “We wanted to remove every barrier to adoption,” said Julia White, CMO of AWS. “No design skills, no setup costs.”
Integrations now include Google Workspace, Zoom, Airtable, Dropbox, and Microsoft Teams. A new custom app builder (Preview) lets users create intelligent dashboards and web pages using natural language.
Amazon Connect Transforms into a Family of Agentic Solutions
Amazon Connect has evolved from a single contact center product into four specialized agentic AI solutions:
- Amazon Connect Decisions – Supply chain planning that uses AI teammates trained on 30 years of Amazon operational science. It shifts teams from crisis management to proactive decision-making.
- Amazon Connect Talent (Preview) – AI-led hiring solution with science-backed assessments and consistent evaluation. “It reduces human preconceptions and accelerates hiring,” noted Colleen Aubrey, SVP of Amazon Applied AI Solutions.
- Amazon Connect Customer – Now offers out-of-the-box conversational AI that can be configured in weeks without technical expertise.
- Amazon Connect Health – An agentic solution for healthcare workflows, including patient intake, appointment scheduling, and clinical data coordination.
The suite is designed to work within existing workflows, not replace them. “We are giving organizations AI teammates that adapt, learn, and improve continuously,” Aubrey added.
Background
The announcements come amid an industry-wide pivot toward agentic AI—systems that not only generate content but also perform complex, multi-step tasks autonomously. AWS has lagged behind competitors like Microsoft (Copilot) and Google (Vertex AI Agent Builder) in offering a unified worker AI assistant.
Amazon Quick directly challenges Microsoft 365 Copilot and ChatGPT Enterprise, while the expanded Connect suite positions AWS to dominate vertical AI in supply chain and healthcare—areas where AWS already holds strong infrastructure partnerships.
What This Means
For enterprises, this means they can now deploy AI agents that interact with existing tools without custom integration. The removal of the AWS account requirement for Quick is a strategic move to grow user base beyond cloud customers.
“The winners in AI will be those who embed it into the fabric of work,” Garman said. “Quick and Connect are just the first wave.” Analysts predict that agentic AI will add nearly $4 trillion in annual value to the global economy by 2030, and AWS is betting big on being the platform that delivers it.
Small and medium businesses stand to benefit most from the free tier and no-code custom apps. However, concerns about data privacy and bias in AI-led hiring remain. AWS has not yet released detailed audit logs for Talent’s assessment algorithms.
